Description : The purpose of the Group Leader position is to provide managerial and operational expertise to direct reports.

Supports Manager with the initial receipt and documentation of all inquiries and complaints (AEs & PQCs) received by BIVI.

Actively participates in the receipt of product inquiries, complaints, and suspected adverse events. Acts as a liaison to QA for PQCs and for all CAPAs assigned to the VeTS Team.

The position requires maintaining a working knowledge of regulations, policies and procedures to assure departmental compliance with US regulations (FDA, USDA, EPA) for capture, maintenance and reporting of adverse events, product quality complaints and customer inquiries.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leads a group of Animal Health technical professionals within a call center environment. Supports Manager to ensure Veterinary Technical Services (VeTS) department compliance with BIVI corporate, Technical Services (TS) and pharmacovigilance (PV) procedures and maintain compliance with Regulatory requirements (USDA, FDA, EPA) and relevant cGMPs.
  • Tracks case status by monitoring the Case Status and Inquiry Reports for specialists.

  • Provides coaching, mentoring, performance management and active development plans of direct reports. Ensures team is appropriately trained and ongoing qualifications are maintained as per regulatory requirements and relevant SOPs.
  • Supports Manager in evaluating work load and customer response effectiveness and for other tasks as needed.

  • Actively participates in the receipt of product inquiries, complaints, and suspected adverse events that may arise by usage of or experience with BIVI products.
  • Provides information as requested and documents all communications in the accordance with BIVI SOPs. Ensures policy, product and technical knowledge are current.
  • Acts as a liaison to QA for PQCs and for all CAPAs assigned to the VeTS Team. Ensures team compliance with relevant GMPs and GMP training.
  • Represents VeTS in QA TAG Meetings and any other QA related meetings / discussions. Will obtain and maintain access to relevant quality systems (IDEA for CON, Trackwise, etc.)

  • Participates in the drafting, review and implementation of department SOPs and related documents, and this within an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Ensures SOPs and related documents are updated as required to meet compliance requirements and business needs. Provides support during audits and inspections as needed.

  • Represents the department with key stakeholders (QA, S&M, Finance, etc.), and on inter-company committees and project teams as assigned.
  • Completes other tasks as assigned.

    Requirements :

  • Associate’s degree, from an accredited institution, in Life Sciences / Veterinary Technician)and a minimum of eight (8) years relevant Veterinary / Animal Health experience including at least five (5) years’ experience in a Pharmacovigilance Call Center environment OR Bachelor's degree, from an accredited institution, in Life Sciences and a minimum or six (6) years relevant Veterinary / Animal Health experience including at least three (3) years’ experience in a Pharmacovigilance Call Center environment
  • Must demonstrate a high level of understanding of applicable regulatory requirements and a high level of technical knowledge.
  • Must have experience providing excellent customer service in a regulatory compliance environment.
  • Must possess a strong understanding of basic veterinary practice issues and procedures.
  • Attention to detail, quality focused and strong technical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent computer skills required (Microsoft Office Suite, PV Database).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and an ability to operate effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong inter-personal skills required to interact with both internal and external 'customers' and stakeholders.
  • Must have excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage conflict and to balance business needs with user friendliness.
  • Ability to work independently, under pressure, demonstrating initiative and flexibility.
  • Must have customer service experience in an animal health or pharmaceutical compliance environment.
  • Must have working knowledge of FDA, EPA and USDA regulations regarding drug safety and product quality complaint reporting requirements.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
