Free People began its journey in 1970, in a modest West Philadelphia storefront, offering plants and records, along with a few pieces of clothing.
Though the name was changed to Urban Outfitters just a year later, Free People was revived as the company’s wholesale label in 1984.
And it hasn’t looked back since. The eclectic assortment quickly assembled behind it a fiercely loyal fan base, and this fueled the opening of FP’s first brick-and-mortar store in Paramus, NJ in 2002, along with the birth of freepeople.

Reports to Senior Manager, Analytics Overview Free People is looking for a talented person to join our Analytics team as an Optimization + Testing Analyst.
The right candidate will possess a balance of technical development and analytical skills, alongside big-picture’, strategic curiosity.
The Analyst helps scale Free People’s dynamic testing and personalization programs, partnering with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Merchandising and Marketing.
These programs contribute to profitable performance of our direct’ eCommerce business and the Analyst plays an essential role in their success through in-depth performance analyses, optimization and testing, feature tracking and enhancement recommendations.
The Analyst will contribute to data-driven decision making at Free People, utilizing URBN’s extensive supply of data across customer, campaign, product, site and marketing channels.
The Analytics team is part of the wider Free People Digital group a cross functional group that includes Consumer Insights, Content, Marketing and UX.
Responsibilities Analyze direct business and onsite behavior, leveraging Google Analytics and EDW to transform data into actionable, strategic insights Support, execute and scale rigorous testing programs from concept to execution + measurement Build site tests, personalization and other user-focused strategies from scratch in concert with partners such as Engineering, Marketing, Merchandising and external agencies / technology partners Maintain, automate and build upon site performance dashboards and reporting Make scalable recommendations and implement ideas to optimize the site experience Assess impact of onsite merchandising strategies, marketing channels and creative content Contribute to a highly-collaborative, development-focused team culture Qualifications A minimum of three to four (3-4) years in an ecommerce environment analyzing site behavior, trends and sales metrics Advanced experience with Google Analytics (or other analytics tools e.
