The ImmunologyClinical Specialist (ICS) position is responsible for drivingdemand for the CIMZIA® (certolizumab pegol) by reinforcing theclinical features of the product and UCB value within an assignedterritory;
engaging and building relationships with clinicaldecision makers and office support staff to create the bestexperiences for patients living with severe immunologic diseaseswho are treated in the home caresetting.
The Immunology Clinical Specialist willbe required to demonstrate an excellence in core UCB StakeholderFacing Competencies that lead to achievement of sales goals andobjectives for At Home administered UCB product(CIMZIA®).
Attainssales goals and objectives by product volume as well as other keyaccountabilities such as reach / frequency with assigned call planstakeholders, collaborations with the Immunology Clinical AccountSpecialist and other members of the Immunology Patient Value Unit,in the assigned Territory.
Develops a strongunderstanding and awareness of the patient journey of care,including the unique needs of patients within the at-home caresetting.
Works within the prioritized customercall plan to establish professional working relationships with HCPand support staff.
Offers an outstandingpatient experience with our product by communicating clinicalinformation on CIMZIA® and relevant patient support services, to anaudience of health care professionals and office staff involved inthe decision-
making process, to deliver a compelling product valueproposition for the care ofpatients.
Establishes an understanding of thelocal ecosystems, including the payor environment, includingpharmacy benefits; demonstrating the ability to successfullynavigate the complexities of local care delivery systems andmodels, comprised of multiple payers, with varying degrees ofrestriction and barriers to patient access for assignedproduct.
Maintains a thorough understanding ofthe competitive market place and drivers of prescriberdecisions.
Demonstrates consistent applicationof the UCB Patient Value Strategy principles by establishingcollaborative and team oriented working relationships, integratingwith local UCB ecosystem business partners, in a matrix environmentencompassing Field Reimbursement Managers, Immunology ClinicalAccount Specialist, Partnership Leads, Regional and NationalAccount Executives and Medical Science Liaisons, as appropriate andin compliance with UCB policies, to ensure coordination andexecution of shared accountabilities such as clinical discussions,product access, and advocacy strategies with targetedHCPs.
Knows when and how to bring in the rightexpertise at the right time from other UCB matrix roles based onthe customer need or opportunity at hand, ensuring all engagementactivities within an account are coordinated and all team membersare informed.
Conducts account relatedactivities such as profiling, call planning, reviewing UCB salesdata, related to at-home administration with assigned stakeholders,to create an understanding of HCP practices regarding the treatmentof patients in the at-homesetting.
Strategically manages allallocated resources such as financial / budgets, samples, accessopportunities, home officeresources.
Coordinates and supports promotionaleducational opportunities and programs intended to expand theknowledge of medical stakeholders and staff, such as peer-
to-peereducational opportunities, in accordance with UCBpolicy.
Stays current with all UCBtraining.
Compliant with all UCB policies andapproved messages; using only approved UCB sales materials andmessages with HCPs, and other externalstakeholders.
3+ years of biopharmaceutical ormedical device sales experience. Biologics or injectableproduct experience a plus.
Demonstratedsustained performance over time (i.e. yearly ranking) in a highlycompetitive therapeutic area.
Ability todiscuss therapeutic strategies to inform and influence decisionmakers
Able to develop and apply clinical andbusiness expertise, and effective sellingskills
Track record of flawless execution ofmarketing strategies at the locallevel
Demonstrated business and strategicplanning skills to identify unique selling opportunities andadaptability to changing marketconditions
Demonstrated understanding ofmanaged care landscape and how it influences / impactsbusiness
Strong verbal, influencing,presentation and written communicationskills
Strong collaboration skills and successworking in teams
Resides within assignedterritorial geography
Understanding of HUB HCPand Patient Value Services
Understanding of theSpecialty Pharmacy fulfillment process at the HCP and patientlevel
Experience calling on Gastroenterologistsor Rheumatologistspreferred
Licenses / Certifications :
ValidDriver License. No more than 2 moving violations in theprevious three-yearperiod
Abilityto drive and / or fly to meetings and clientsites
