The Senor Applications Technologist is a strong technical player for the full EU Sauces and Inclusions business and supports the technical interaction with local plant stakeholders, with the Sales Account Managers, with customers and with suppliers.

The role is part of the broader EU Sweet and Beverage Flavours Technical team which locally has ca. 7 members.


  • A technical lead for technology in the sector. The backbone is food science, particularly in the areas of hydrocolloid and physical-chemistry.
  • This is coupled to active knowledge of processing, complex rheology and food microbiology.

  • Works on new product ideas and customer requirements, translates research into usable products.
  • Operates & defines pilot-scale process equipment to make first production scale-ups, process optimization and small-scale production.
  • Will implement product & process in the industrial environment. Will do follow up of customers satisfaction with new or modified product.

  • Statistical treatment and validation of data obtained with the analytical instruments. Ability to develop data to guidelines and process parameters for process and product design.
  • Ability to prioritize projects based on customer needs and timing. Ability to independently scope projects and develop solutions for projects, including the ability to diagnose issues and troubleshoot and communicate the results to customers.
  • May lead cross functional teams to ensure alignment of objectives and development of suitable methodologies.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%, including short notice travel and potential international travel
  • Interacts extensively with other technical teams in addition to Marketing, Quality Compliance and Manufacturing Operations.

  • Languages : English is a must. German, French or Dutch are an advantage
  • Sound knowledge of food science fundamentals and ability to apply in practice

    Bachelor's degree in general science or food science or equivalent education, Master degree preferred.

    Bespoke know how in chocolate-, bakery-, confectionery- and dairy manufacturing is an asset.
