About Us Lloyd's Brussels is a newly established company that will play an important part of Lloyd's European Market Access strategy for both the insurance and reinsurance business in the EU / EEA from 2019.
It will allow Lloyd's to remain actively engaged with the market and ensure that Lloyd's Brussels is an effective solution for the market to carry on business without interruption when the UK leaves the EU.
The Operations function will play a vital role in providing, promoting and protecting Lloyd's trading rights, providing thought leadership in the business operations environment, sustaining Lloyd's relationships and credibility with Managing Agents, Brokers, Coverholders, the insurance regulatory and other trade bodies.
The Role The Operations Technician ensures that inbound risk, premium and claims data validation capture and processing activities function effectively for both Open Market and Delegated Authority business.
The role holder will contribute to the implementation and continuous optimisation of Lloyd's Brussels risk, premium and claim processes and systems, maintenance of operating procedures, policies, controls and KPI's to support Lloyd's Brussels operations.
What Will You Do? Control and review failed messages of Open Market contracts from the Structured Data Capture vendor and identify and resolve issues in message based on the scanned MRC or direct liaison with the managing agents Ensure binder agreements for delegated authority business are correctly recorded in the system and ensure the monthly submission of risk, premium and claims bordereaux data are recorded against the correct binder Maintain up to date documentations Query and resolution of errors in risk premium and claims data provided through review of received data and contracts and / or response on queries from managing agents Validation and completion of failed open market contracts and ensuring subsequent messages from Xchanging are attached to the correct contract Validation and completion of failed risk, premium and claims bordereau submissions and ensuring subsequent messages from Xchanging attach to the correct binder Review, assessment and manual input of endorsements and associated exception handling Production of documentation and obtaining agreement to the transaction from the Managing Agent, as necessary Manage operational risk and maintain controls within the post bind processes Liaise with other Lloyd's Brussels teams to share insights, and identify opportunities to optimise the effectiveness of Lloyd's Brussels operations What You'll Need Experience of working collaboratively within a team to deliver high quality output in an office environment Experience of adhering to agreed governance processes and procedures Knowledge of insurance business processes is highly desirable for the position.
Good understanding of the risk, regulatory and compliance framework relating to the insurance / reinsurance industry. London insurance market experience will be an asset IT literate with the ability to learn how to use new systems Organisational skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines and make sound judgements Ability to engage, communicate and build trusted relationships in the internal and external business areas which the role supports Ability to produce workable solutions that meets the immediate demands of the situation(s) Track record of delivering customer expectations Communication skills with an ability to translate complex technical terminology into non-technical language where appropriate Fluency in written and spoken English required.
