About this role
As a Power Electronic Systems Technician, you will be enrolled in the Power Electronic Systems R&D team in Leuven, Belgium and help drive the development and manufacturing of NI’s high-
power (kW to MW) modules and systems. You will be responsible for the physical assembly, manufacturing, wiring and testing of prototype power-
electronic systems and control panels. Inherent to the prototyping and test activities at NI Leuven, your responsibilities and day-
to-day activities would be very diverse and range from small-scale manufacturing of mechanical parts to installing power-
electronic equipment and wiring complex panels, cabinets and test setups.
What you get to do with our team
You will be responsible for physically making and assembling prototypes and customer projects, in close collaboration with the development and engineering teams
Help invent solutions, design parts and solve problems during the manufacturing process
Assembly and electrical cabling of electrical panels and power-electronic systems
Assist with the integration, starting-up and testing of prototypes in the test facility
Fabrication of small mechanical parts, such as copper busbars, mounting plates,
Warehouse management :
Help organize the workshop and assembly area
This is why you are a Power Electronic Systems Technician
All-round technician : comfortable with different manufacturing techniques (mainly electrical, also mechanical)
Ability to engineer or design solutions as needed
Very detail and quality oriented
Flexible attitude, you don’t mind a varied job contents and task-switching
Experience with industrial electrical installations and panel building is a plus
