Your role as a Scrum Master will be to set your team up for successful delivery. You’ll be a key player in a small, agile delivery team, acting as their conscience and conduit to the wider organization.
Using your excellent facilitation skills, you’ll support the team to plan their workload, optimize their delivery capability, and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
Your impeccable relationship building skills will be used to resolve conflicts and lead a group of individuals to become a self-organizing, highly effective, and productive team.
Additionally, the candidate will support us in transitioning from a Waterfall to an Agile organisation in close collaboration with our Agile coach and other new and existing roles.
Key Responsibilities :
Guide the team on Agile and Scrum best practices;
Advocates for the Agile values and principles and Scrum practices within the organization;
Ability to deal with ambiguity of a team at the start of an agile transition with a large complex environment;
Facilitate agile ceremonies : daily scrums, sprint planning, retrospectives and sprint reviews;
Ensure that distractions and road blocks are mitigated;
Foster a collaborative relationship within the team, encouraging teamwork and motivation in the team;
Facilitate the set up, tracking and interpretation of metrics (inputs, outputs and outcomes) for Scrum teams. This includes burn-down charts, cumulative delivery flows, success metrics, ...;
Understands the technology roadmap and helps the team fit their work into this roadmap, where applicable;
Ensures close alignment with other squads through clear communication and participation in Scrum of Scrums with other Scrum Masters;
Works with the Delivery Manager for bigger multi-squad initiatives;
Fosters self-organization and healthy team dynamics;
Provides input in the Scrum Master practice together with the Agile coach, Chapter Lead and the other Scrum Masters;
For some bigger projects with impacts outside the squad or with other regions, the Scrum Master also might need to perform some IT Project Management tasks.
About You :
A passion for coaching individuals and teams to get the best out of people;
Must possess knowledge and expertise in the use of Agile and Scrum Master methodologies and tools. Typically has 5-7 years of software delivery experience, including 2 years as Scrum Master, or a similar role using an alternative Agile framework (XP, Kanban, SAFe, LeSS, ...);
Experience with remote team members;
Strong coaching capability where the candidate has experience in communicating, influencing and engaging team members, peers, stakeholders and leadership;
Delivering well structured communication both orally, in writing or through delivery of presentations. Also used to liaising with senior management and other stakeholders clearly and concisely;
Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
Focused and organized;
Strong team player;
Flexible and adaptable;
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline preferred;
Knowledge of, qualifications and / or certifications in industry standard Agile / Scrum methodologies such as Scrum Master certification, SAFe, LeSS, Kanban, ...
