For our Londerzeel location in Belgium we are looking for a " Quality and Regulatory Manager "

Profile

The Quality (QA) & Regulatory Manager will oversee the activity of the quality assurance & quality control department and staff, developing, implementing and maintaining a system of quality and reliability testing for the organizations products and / or development process.

In this role you have daily contact with the QA / QC assistant (your direct report), the logistics team, sales & customer service people, product managers and management.

You also advise and support management and local departments in the maintaining and continued improvement of the Food Safety & Quality System.

The Quality and Regulatory manager reports to the Supply Chain manager.

General

  • Communicate pro-actively upstream and downstream with internal stakeholders.
  • Synthesize and present analyses and recommendations to management for decision-making.
  • Through collaboration with key stakeholders, accountable for driving continuous improvements processes, establishing meeting performance objectives and quality changes.
  • Create and sustain an improvement culture by actively stimulating and supporting quality excellence initiatives.
  • Responsible for including product quality and safety subjects in the company training & qualification program in all areas.
  • Manage, train and develop the quality team so that the team meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements.
  • Perform other assignments and duties as may be required.
  • Quality Assurance

  • Management of the company's Quality, Food / Feed system according to the relevant norms and Global Policy (including HACCP, ISO, ...)
  • Maintain contact with authorities related to food / feed safety.
  • Perform management reviews by standards.
  • Manage internal audits system, preparation and control of audit programs.
  • Responsible for external / authorities / customer audits.
  • Approval of SOP's and other controlled documents.
  • Manage customer & supplier complaints.
  • Manage a quality system & documentation for customers and suppliers.
  • Responsible for supplier & contract manufacturers audits.
  • Responsible for product / raw material specifications and documents.
  • Manage non conformances, material review board and corrective and preventive measures.
  • Responsible for pest control system.
  • Responsible to make sure maintenance & calibration are managed as required by the responsible person.
  • Insure annual permits required and kept up to date.
  • Regulatory

  • Collaborate & coordinate with the Business Unit regulatory team in regards to regulatory topics.
  • Responsible for legal compliance with all needed regulatory requirements related to Quality & Food Safety.
  • Responsible to keep colleagues within the site up to date with new legislation.
  • To interpret legislative and regulatory issues with regard to the effect on the site operations.
  • Manage product date (RM-IM-FP) input & maintenance.
  • Manage documentation for customers & suppliers.
  • Responsible for handling customer & suppliers questionnaires.
  • Responsible for declarations related to regulatory status withing the scope of the function.
  • Quality Control

  • Coordination & Supervision of QC and activities related to Incoming and Outgoing products and productions.
  • Responsible for material status including expiry date.
  • Liaise with Product Management & Technical Support on more complex technical issues & questions.
  • Job Requirements

  • Tertiary education in Nutrition and Chemistry or Biochemistry.
  • Experience in the food or relevant industry and knowledge of food safety and / or quality systems.
  • Background, experience or training in HACCP, ISO, Auditing (internal).
  • Demonstrate ability to lead and manage staff.
  • Good written and verbal knowledge of Dutch and English (French / German are an asset).
  • Enthusiastic problem-solver who can work accurately & quickly under pressure.
  • Team player : Foods Safety & Internal Audit Team Leader (by default)
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work as a team member and independently, while handling multiple projects.
  • Computer literate.
  • Training requirements

    On the job, internal, external, annual, periodic (as required) :

  • Internal auditing, principles of ISO 22000.
  • Food Safety - HACCP, Risk assessment, product specific.
  • Standards of the local organization f.i. ISO-updates, regulatory & legal.
