We are hiring a Sales Engineer to join our experienced team in Belgium. You will have 2 years development experience and be looking to progress your career.

A strong technical aptitude, considered approach, attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels are essential skills for this role.

The Sales Engineer provides guidance in the use of InterSystems' products as they best suit the requirements of the customer and the market.

Product and business strategies are coordinated with the InterSystems Account Managers, to apply existing and new products to customers' solution needs.

The Sales Engineer role is wide-ranging, requiring a mixture of design skills, hands-on coding, presentation skills, technical architecture, sales awareness, business acumen, evangelism and mentoring and training ability.

If you have the technical background required and the aptitude to move into a pre-sales role, we will provide training. This role requires regular travel across Benelux.


  • Investigate & demonstrate the use of InterSystems products with other 3rd party technologies.
  • Manage the technical relationship with prospects and partners, ensuring that they can take advantage of the latest product capabilities
  • Recommend solution architecture, database design, design patterns, migration and upgrade strategies and operational best practices.
  • Install InterSystems software and assist with benchmarking exercises to determine optimal deployment configurations.
  • Provide hands-on mentoring to coach partners and prospects, particularly in the early stages of adoption or during particularly technically challenging projects.
  • Partner with Sales to give presentations to customers and prospects at site visits, marketing events and other venues.
  • Topics includes strategic and tactical technical and business directions and technical product demonstrations

  • Carry out technical training in InterSystems technologies
  • Assist customers and prospects during beta test programmes or pre-launch activities and provide feedback to the Product Development
  • Provide consulting services for the Sales Department and other InterSystems departments (Marketing, Support, Development, Documentation among others) as request
  • Qualifications

  • Broad knowledge of IT Industry issues & trends
  • At least 2 years programming with hands-on expertise in full stack, server based or serverless computing
  • Ongoing experience within the design, development & deployment of complex applications
  • Experience of working with databases, a combination of Relational and NoSQL experience would be a plus
  • Design, analysis and problem solving skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts
  • Education and Training

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent technical degree
